Joleon Lescott has tipped new Everton signing Phil Jagielka to be a hit at Goodison Park.
Lescott, who vacated the number 16 shirt to take hold of the number five jersey he once wore at Wolves, believes the £4million signing from Sheffield United will fit in well.
The defender has now handed his old number to his new team-mate.
The two know all about each other, having played together at England Under 18 level and on opposite sides during their time in the Championship.
Lescott told evertonTV: "Jags has got my old number and I wish him all the best. We played against each other for the past five years and have been together at England Under 18s level.
"If he can do what he did at Sheffield United here, he will have no problem at Everton.
"He did exceptionally well in the Championship as well as in the Premiership last season for Sheffield United but unfortunately they got relegated. Fortunately for us we have got their best player."
