West Ham have stated that Craig Bellamy is not quite a Hammer, although they expect a deal to be finalised on Monday.
Earlier on Saturday Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez claimed the former Blackburn and Newcastle striker has sealed his Upton Park switch.
Although a fee has been agreed and Bellamy has concurred on personal terms, he now needs to resolve a private contractual issue with The Reds before the deal can be ratified.
"Following comments attributed to Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez today, West Ham United would like to make it clear that Craig Bellamy has not yet completed a move to Upton Park," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The deal has been delayed due to a private contractual issue between Craig Bellamy and Liverpool, which must be resolved before any transfer can be completed.
"The player is due to meet with Liverpool on Monday morning, and we expect to complete the transfer soon after."
