Andy van der Meyde has vowed to fight to salvage his future at Everton.
The Dutchman has been strongly linked with a move away from Everton after a disappointing spell at Goodison Park.
Van der Meyde made just ten appearances last season and had a very public falling out with boss David Moyes.
The former Ajax and Internazionale winger is determined to prove himself at Everton and he is ready to fight for his place in the side in the coming season.
"I have not had the best times of times at Everton," van der Meyde told the club's official website.
"I know I can do better and I want to please everybody as well as myself. I have been unlucky with injuries and I am trying to start afresh.
"I am passionate about football and it is frustrating when you have been training all week not to play on the Saturday - but that is football.
"The only person to blame is myself and this season I will do better.
"I just want to have a good pre-season and be in the starting 11 for the first match.
"I can't wait for the season to start and it is up to me to do the best I can and the rest is up to the gaffer."
